Our Story
We began our olive oil business 14 years ago. Inspired by Matt’s Sicilian grandfather (who produced olive oil many years ago) we followed in his footsteps, planting our first olive trees 14 years ago and ultimately producing our own oil coming up on eight years under the Scarlata family name, before expanding to a brick-and-mortar shop in Tracy, CA. We proudly offered various Italian products, locally sourced gourmet food items, and kitchen decor as well. I also spent time each month hosting a cooking segment from the shop for local morning news show, Good Day Sacramento.
We are well known for our award-winning Scarlata Farms extra virgin olive oils, flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars. We previously have won Best of Class and Gold Medals in the Napa Valley Olive Oil Competition, awards in the CA State Fair and Mid State Fairs for our olive oils.
We were named Tracy's Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Tracy Chamber of Commerce in January 2019.
Our Reserve Olive Oil label also pays tribute to Matt's Sicilian grandfather, Louis Scarlata and Portuguese grandfather, John Borba who came from Portugal to farm. That is the land on which our olive trees are planted.
In June 2022, we closed our gourmet food shop and moved to Napa Valley. Napa Valley has always been near and dear to our hearts where we have visited for over 34 years. We have been warmly welcomed into the Napa Valley community.
Locally you can find our oils and balsamic vinegars at Oakville Grocery, V. Sattui Winery, Genova Deli, Deuces Market, Soda Canyon Store, Vineyard 29 and Acre Kitchen & Bar (Private Labeled) and The Bennington. We also have been selected as the Exclusive Olive Oil for the upcoming 2024 Napa Valley Mustard Celebration!
Our Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil is also used by the chefs at Acre Kitchen & Bar in Rockridge Market Hall Oakland, Much Ado About Pizza in Pleasanton and the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club!
On March 12, 2024 were honored to be selected Best of Class and Gold in the CA State Fair Olive Oil Competition with our Estate Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil!
Napa Valley is our new home, and we couldn't be happier than to be involved in special events involving food and the wonderful people who make up Napa Valley and those who come from all over the world to visit and experience Napa.
